Research
Before we began developing our game, we thought about what we wanted our game to be about, what the style was going to be, and how we were going to execute everything so that the game was done on time
Development
1
To begin, we worked out the layout of our house and general placement of where items could go. We modeled the house in SketchUp and quickly estimated where to place objects and doors by drawing shapes in Adobe Illustrator. This is also when we decided to start the game in the small creepy bathroom!
2
Next came designing textures for the floors and walls of our model using Adobe Photoshop, and searching for items to place within the house via TurboSquid. Sounds to include throughout the game were also developed to add to our horror approach.
3
Third, the game could now begin to be built within Unity to include the textures and figuring out how the software works alongside our concept of using a phone as the flashlight and the timer for the player. The sounds designed could also be implemented at this stage.
From there it came to debugging the main elements including the keys, locks, and doors!
